land ho!
happy new year everyone. we just returned from our first shows of the year, and they happened to be on a huge ship in the gulf of mexico. strange right? most of us were rock boat rookies, or virgins as all of the veterans liked to call it, so we had no idea what to expect. nonetheless, we packed our tommy bahama party shirts, jimmy buffett records, little umbrellas and assorted beercuzi’s, with only movies, television and our imaginations to tell us what a cruise is like. needless to say it was an experience. like vegas meets spring break meets summercamp meets SXSW in the middle of a tropical storm. but sour weather couldn’t spoil the rock boat as we were happy to be reunited with some familiar faces (stephen kellogg and the sixers, tyrone wells) and even happier to be acquainted with some new ones (green river ordinance, the bridges, will hoge etc.). I believe that youtube has a couple humorous videos of us swishing and swaying with the tide, hitting each other with guitar necks and elbows while trying to play songs we’re only used to playing on solid ground. thankfully there were no injuries or men overboard, just several cases of the “i’m standing on solid ground but i feel like i’m rocking on a boat out at sea” syndrome. (you can’t understand it unless you’ve had it).
as for the record, we will be putting the finishing touches on that in the next month. we are awfully anxious to get it into your hands so you can share it, cover it, throw it like a frisbee or even use it as a coaster. it’s up to you! thank you all for being so patient with us. these things take forever! as far as shows go, we have nothing booked at the moment, but things should be popping up very soon.
but seriously though. listen to our friends.

green river ordinance - new pals from texas. together we watched the cowboys smash the eagles. sorry pennsylvanians.
the bridges - family band from alabama. these girls had the best harmonies in the gulf of mexico.

record update #3 . . .
yes! we’ve actually made it to record update #3. this is a big step for us. as of right now we are enjoying the first real break we’ve had in the last 6 weeks. the majority of the record is done as we take off the holidays anxiously excited to resume for a short bit in the new year. i can’t even explain how badly we want the record to be released tomorrow so you all could take it home with you and see what we’ve been doing this whole time, but sadly these things take tiiiiiiime. we hope it will be worth the wait. now i wish i could post a tune for you all to here, but that’d get me in a lot of trouble, so here are some song titles:
H, U, HW, JSHT, SL, LWD, SB, IOMILY etc. you get the idea. i give extra credit to anyone who can guess what those stand for. haha
now it’s time to rep some of our friends who have released stuff recently.
